Rachel blogs. Some things in life are just inevitable. Rachel blogs and Rachel watches the Food Network and obsesses over food, sometimes even more than she obsesses over her Master's degree.
This is what brought on the February 2015 project Grad Student Eats DC. Our blogger currently runs another project over at Witticisms, Criticisms, and Snark, which is a slightly less guided blogging project.
Back then, Rachel was a Master's Student at American University, trying to take part in the city's amazing food scene on a grad student budget -- which is to say, very little wiggle room.
Since this blog was started, she's become something like settled in this wonderful city, loving it and its food scene. Come along on a journey through enjoying DC food adventures, cooking on a budget, and other aspects of Eating DC!
What is this project?
Well, it's one part recipe blog, one part restaurant review, and one part money-saving tips to help your grocery runs last without leaving you eating nothing but Ramen noodles (though oh my gosh, do I love ramen noodles).
But wait, where's Grad Student Eats DC?
"Grad Student Eats DC" was only a jumping-off point for other culinary adventures. Grad Student Eats DC segued into "Rachel Eats DC," and hopefully, someday, "Rachel Eats the World," but that's pending more time and money, and definitely outside of the scope of the project as it was conceived.
Do you take requests?
For recipes and reviews, I will definitely at least hear out requests. Feel free to leave comments with questions or ideas for future posts -- is there a particular food you've been struggling to revamp or a place you'd like me to check out? Also, if you try a recipe and just want to rant because it didn't turn out like the picture -- that's cool too! We can talk about what went different and ways to change it for the future! The comments section is your oyster. You can also contact me through the contact page on my other blog.
